I see the gap between what exists and what's possible — and I can’t stop thinking about closing it.
Watch: Who is Excel?
60 sec introductionI’m Excel Edson Chiba — a Zimbabwean electrical engineering student at Marwadi University, India. I led over 100 of my fellow Zimbabweans as community president in a foreign country. I’ve been in rooms with prime ministers. And I still believe I have everything left to prove.
My philosophy is simple: practicing something makes you capable of doing great things. Not talent. Not luck. Practice — deliberate, daily, relentless.
I am building the version of myself that Zimbabwe needs. Openly. Imperfectly. Right now.
If we reach a point where there is no corner of Zimbabwe where people can’t afford food — that is level zero. That is where we begin to build. Energy must come first. Then agriculture. Then everything else follows.
Before anything else can flourish, power must reach every corner. Energy is the prerequisite for every other dream.
When no Zimbabwean goes hungry — when food is no longer a question — that is level zero. We build everything else from there.
The bridge between where we are and where we must go. Technology in the hands of the right people changes everything.
I’m building myself deliberately — 100 videos, 50 projects, mastering Revit MEP, and connecting with people building the future. Every number here is real. Each one moves when I do the work.

Videos include personal growth reflections, Zimbabwe vision talks, technical deep-dives, and mimicry sessions — studying the world’s best speakers word-for-word to master articulation. Every video is a rep. Every project is a proof.
Topics range from personal philosophy and Zimbabwe’s future, to technical deep-dives, to mimicry sessions of the world’s best speakers. All raw. All real.
A masterclass mimicry session studying Neil deGrasse Tyson's reasoning and delivery — learning to think from first principles and communicate ideas with precision and wonder.
Inspired by Neil deGrasse Tyson. A mimicry exercise studying how the world's best communicators think and speak.
Each project is a rep — something built, finished, and documented with video and photos. Starting from zero. Building to fifty.
Each project will include a video walkthrough, before-and-after photos, and a written reflection. Watch the counter above move.
The strongest form of trust comes from direct, verifiable experience. Each entry is backed by real people you can contact, videos, results, and documents — in that order of strength.
Marwadi University, India
Led a community of 100+ Zimbabwean students studying in India at Marwadi University. Organised events, resolved conflicts, represented students to university administration, and built a sense of home 10,000 km from Zimbabwe.
Marwadi University
Elected by fellow students to represent floor welfare, communicate issues to hostel management, and maintain a positive living environment.
Gujarat, India
Actively participated in Vibrant Gujarat when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Marwadi University. One of the most significant public events of my university years.
Marwadi University
Represented international students from more than 52 countries in food policy ensuring diverse dietary needs and cultural preferences were considered in campus catering.
I am highly collaborative. If you see a gap between what exists and what’s possible — in energy, agriculture, or technology — and you’re serious about closing it, I want to know you.
